Suzuki Swift's model name is relatively new in Europe and the first generation was launched in 2000 and is a so-called "supermini", among the smallest cars you can buy. It is closest to comparison with the then Nissan Micra, although Swift was somewhat lower in price on both the new car market and the used market. This first generation measured about 3.4 meters in length and had five doors with a small boot. The reception of the new car model was moderate in the Nordic market as fuel prices were still relatively low, around eight kronor per liter of 95-octane gasoline. In Japan, in the home market, it went better already at the launch. A decade later, the time was right for Suzuki Swift and then the second generation of the car had already been launched in 2004, the inner and outer dimensions were smaller and the car got rid of the rear doors. At this time, the Swift with 1.2-liter engine (petrol-powered) was one of the world's most fuel-efficient passenger cars. It was heavily reworked since the first generation and both the car's driving characteristics and interior kept better dimensions. Sales increased and exceeded goals and when the third generation was introduced in 2010, Suzuki Swift was a well-established name. The detail quality was further improved and the car had the same fuel economy entry engine as the previous generation. However, the purchase price slightly increased for the base version and a 2018 year model in basic version costs approximately SEK 130,000. The Suzuki Swift, however, has the time, with rising fuel prices, on its side and the secondary value is therefore good and the car model has a faithful crowd of drivers.
