Citroën C4 is a compact car, or a car in the "golf class", which we are more accustomed to naming it in Sweden. The most common model is a semi-hatch with five doors, although the model is available as a compartment and then in some markets. The first generation Citroën C4 was launched in 2004 and had the typical lines of the era in the era - round lines and large windows signed the Italian car designer Donato Coco. This gave the car practical properties in dense city traffic - smooth sides and large windows as well as short hood made it easy to navigate and not least pocket parking. The first generation is available with both diesel and gasoline engines, the latter being the most common on the Swedish market. The basic version has a petrol engine of 1.4 liters and with, for the time being, good fuel economy. For the year 2008 it was time for an update and with the characteristic elongated lamps. The second generation C4 was presented as the 2010 year model and became a slightly more expensive car but with more solid and elaborate interiors. Another big difference is that the car abandoned Coco's previous round forms and got a more streamlined design language. The exterior and interior dimensions had grown slightly and diesel engines became more popular than petrol-powered variants on the Swedish market (something that changed at the end of the car's life cycle). A popular variant of C4 is C4 Cactus which is a small SUV that does not have much in common with the original version, it is based on a Citroen C3 and not C4. The odd shape with narrow headlights and bumpers in black plastic on the sides of the doors are characteristic features (prevents door layering in the paint, a design grip for tight parking spaces). The original version design became very popular among industry journalists and was awarded several awards.
